Laboratory fume cupboards are normally run with an air inlet speed of 0.3...0.5 m/s. The SVU 100 air-flow transducer, which was specially developed by Sauter for such applications, accurately measures any changes in the air speed with a time constant of <100 ms. It is, therefore, particularly suitable for use in fume cupboards with horizontal and vertical front sashes. Furthermore, the SVU 101 can reliably detect any change in the direction of air flow, which is a further safety feature. The integrated filter element prevents the sensor from becoming contaminated.
